Biography

Dr. M. Malliarou is a Full Professor of Occupational Health Nursing at the Department of Nursing, University of Thessaly. She directs the Healthcare Innovation Laboratory (H.I.L.), as well as the Postgraduate Programme “Advanced Nursing Practice”, and has more than 25 years of clinical experience in military hospitals, having served as a retired Lieutenant Colonel.

She participates as an applicant or Work Package Leader in various categories of EU funded projects, including Erasmus+, Interreg NEXT MED, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, Centres of Vocational Excellence, and others. She also has a strong presence in international networks, such as the Florence Network, ENETOSH and COPSOQ. She is the Erasmus Academic Coordinator and responsible for the Department’s outward-looking activities. She is also a certified evaluator in the registry of experts of the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation (HFRI-EX-02252).

She holds two Master’s degrees, one in Health Informatics from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and one in Health Unit Management from the Open University of Cyprus, as well as a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Since 2014, she has been a member of the Adjunct Academic Staff at the Hellenic Open University.

She has supervised more than 100 postgraduate dissertations, as well as five PhD candidates and two postdoctoral researchers. Her scientific work is reflected in numerous publications indexed in international databases.
